Our Statement on North Carolina’s House Bill 2
The Linux Foundation is preparing to host its Vault Linux Storage & Filesystems Conference and Linux Storage, Filesystem & MM Summit in Raleigh, North Carolina. Given recent legislation passed in North Carolina, it is necessary to respond and be clear regarding our code of conduct policy.
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for participants at all of our events. Harassment based on gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion will not be tolerated. This includes dictating what bathroom a transgender attendee may choose to use. We actively enforce this code at all our events.
With the conferences just a few weeks away, we are unable to cancel or switch venues. We also want to support attendees that value this event and have already booked travel to work with their industry peers to advance open source storage.
The Linux Foundation and the LSF-MM Summit event committee have worked with the Raleigh Marriott, as well as all off-site event venues and event vendors to ensure our code of conduct will be enforced by all parties.
If you experience harassment at any of our events, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts/staff badges onsite and an organizer can be found at the event registration counter at any time.
