About Napa

The Linux Foundation looks forward to welcoming you to Linux Storage Filesystem & MM Summit 2014 in idyllic Napa Valley.  Just an hour north of the Bay Area, Napa is world renowned for its rolling hills, beautiful vistas, Michelin restaurants, and of course, vineyards.  We hope you’ll take advantage of your time outside the conference to explore all that California’s wine country has to offer.

Wineries
Though just 30 miles long and a few miles wide, Napa Valley is home to diverse microclimates and soils uniquely suited to the cultivation of a variety of fine wine grapes. Among the internationally acclaimed wines produced in this small region are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc.  Napa alone boasts over 400 wineries--something for every pallet!

Restaurants
The Napa Valley is North America's premier wine and food destination. The region is home to more than 125 exciting restaurants, awarded more Michelin stars per capita than any other wine region in the world. Here is where the farm-to-table culinary scene meets the creativity of some of the world's best chefs, resulting in a wide range of culinary adventures.

Things to Do
If you’ve had your fill of food and wine, the Napa Valley also boasts a variety of outdoor activities, spas, shopping, arts, and culture.

Weather
Napa’s typical weather in March ranges from highs in the mid to high 60s with lows in the mid 40s.
