Attendee FAQ

1. Where is the event located?
The event is located at Parc 55 Wyndham Hotel in San Francisco, CA.

2. Is there a registration deadline?
There is not a registration deadline, but we encourage you to register early so you do not miss important information that will be emailed to all attendees.

3. What is your cancellation policy?
If you must cancel for any reason please notify us via email at events [at ] linuxfoundation [dot] org. Refunds will only be issued for cancellations received at least 3 weeks prior to the first day of the event and may take up to 14 days to process. Please note that all refunds are subject to a 3% processing fee.

4. Is this event open to anyone to attend?
Yes, this event is open to all but is primarily geared towards companies and developers using Linux in embedded products.

5. May I substitute someone else, if I am unable to attend?
If you are unable to attend, you can substitute another attendee in lieu of cancellation this event. To substitute an attendee, you may return to registration form, login in as 'Already Registered' and edit the registration with the new attendee's information. Utilizing this feature will also allow you to re-issue yourself a receipt and/or confirmation should you need it.

6. May I bring guests?
Many participants will be traveling from afar and may want to travel with companions not attending the event. Please note that since the event is for registered attendees only, guests, family and children are not allowed at any conference sessions or any special events.

7. Are there any discounts for Linux Foundation Individual Members?
Yes, please contact us at events [at] linuxfoundation [dot] org to receive your discount code.

8. How can I get my company to send me to Embedded Linux Conference?
You can tell them that the education available at the conference will advance your knowledge without costing them much money. This is the best and most cost effective way to learn about Linux and other infrastructure and development initiatives in the enterprise and mobile computing.

9. How can I retrieve a copy of my receipt?
A link will be on your confirmation email; in the email click on the section that reads "View Your Invoice". Next, under "Actions" you can select either: "Print Receipt" or "Email Receipt". If you do not have your confirmation email any longer, you can also access your registration details by logging in with your email and password used to register here. Once you login and access your registration details, simply click on "Print Receipt" located under "Documents".

10. Where should I stay?
We have a room block at Parc 55 Hotel available for attendees with low room rates of $169/night. Please visit the Hotel & Travel page for reservation information.

11. When do you recommend I arrive and depart?
If you are coming from out of town, you should plan to arrive to the Parc 55 on Tuesday, February 19 so you don’t miss any of the sessions that start on Monday morning. The program will end around 5:30pm on Friday, February 22.

12. What can I expect in terms of the weather in San Francisco and how should I plan for attire?
February is a nice time of year to visit San Francisco, with average high temperatures around 60 degrees and average lows around 48 degrees. It is also the second rainiest month of the year, and rain will fall approximately one out of every three days, so it would be a good idea to pack a sweater and light rain jacket. Check out weather.com for the most up to date information.

The attire for the event is business casual. Plan to dress in layers, to ensure you are warm or cool enough for the weather/meeting rooms.

13. Are meals included?
Continental breakfast, Lunch and Coffee Breaks are included on all conference days. There will also be an evening reception onsite at the Parc 55 on Wednesday night, where drinks and light hor d’oeuvres will be served.

14. What can I expect in terms of the evening events?
We will be holding an evening reception for attendees onsite on Wednesday, February 20. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages (beer, wine and soft drinks) will be provided at the reception. There will also be an offsite evening event for all attendees on Thursday, February 21.

15. Does Linux Foundation have a anti-harassment/anti-discrimination policy for their events?

Yes, Embedded Linux Conference includes a Technology Showcase where companies can showcase a product or technology. As it is our goal to keep each Technology Showcase at a small, exclusive size, opportunities are only available to sponsors. Please contact us for information.
